What causes this fault?

This fault occurs when the main control system loses its ability to talk to the part that regulates the heat pump's motor speed. The most common reason is a hardware failure within the inverter circuit board or a loose connection in the wiring that carries signals between these internal components.

Engineer required

This is a high severity fault. Stop using the boiler and call a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt gas-related repairs yourself.
